At SalonLynk, our mission is to help stylists and salon owners manage their businesses easily, securely, and beautifully. We provide an all-in-one booking, client management, and business system (the “Services”) to licensed professionals in the beauty industry (“Professionals,” “you,” “your”).

This Privacy Policy explains how SalonLynk (“SalonLynk,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information about Professionals through our website, mobile apps, and other Services. This policy applies only to information collected from Professionals, not from their individual clients booking appointments, except as described in section 5.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, SalonLynk acts as the data controller for information you provide directly and the data processor for information you store about your salon clients.

We collect information about you in several ways:

a. Information you provide directly

When you sign up and use our Services, you may provide information such as:

Contact Information: Name, email address, business address, and license number.
Business Information: Services offered, prices, business hours, photos or videos of your work, website, and payment preferences.
Payment Information: Bank account or credit card information (processed securely through third-party providers such as Stripe).
Other Information: Messages, feedback, survey responses, or content you upload.

b. Information from other sources

We may receive information about you from:

Other users, if you authorize access to contacts for referrals or sharing.
Third-party services, for verification or fraud prevention.
Payment processors, to help process transactions.

c. Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:

Device and Usage Information: Browser type, IP address, operating system, pages visited, clicks, and interactions.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies: To remember preferences, improve the Services, and analyze usage.
Location Information: With your consent, device location to provide location-based features.

d. Inferences

We may infer information such as your general location or professional category based on other data collected.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Connect you with clients and other professionals.

4. Targeted Advertising & Analytics

Deliver relevant ads on and off SalonLynk.

You may opt out of certain targeted advertising through your browser settings or organizations such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (www.aboutads.info/choices).

Google user data is never used for advertising. See section 5.

5. Google Data

If you sign in with Google or connect your Google Calendar, SalonLynk receives data from Google as described below. This section applies to all data we receive from Google APIs and takes precedence over any other part of this Privacy Policy.

a. What we access

Basic profile: your name, email address and profile picture, to create and sign in to your account.
Date of birth: when you first sign up with Google, we read the birthday on your Google account, if one is available, to pre-fill your profile. You can change or remove it at any time.
Calendar events: we create, update and delete events for your SalonLynk bookings and time blocks. We also read the events on your primary calendar so we can show them in SalonLynk and know when you are busy.
Calendar settings: read-only access to your event label colours, so your Google events appear in SalonLynk in the colours you chose.

b. How we use it

To add your SalonLynk appointments to your Google Calendar and keep them up to date.
To show your Google Calendar events on your SalonLynk calendar.
To stop clients booking times when your Google Calendar shows you as busy.
To detect when you move or delete a SalonLynk appointment in Google Calendar and update SalonLynk to match.

c. What we send to Google

Appointments we add to your Google Calendar include the client’s name, the service, the client’s email address and phone number, and a link to the booking in SalonLynk.

d. What we store

Your Google access tokens, encrypted.
The Google event IDs of appointments SalonLynk adds to your calendar, so we can update or remove them later.
Your Google Calendar sync settings.

We do not store the contents of your other Google Calendar events. We read them when needed and do not save them.

e. Sharing

We do not sell your Google user data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. People do not read it except with your consent, for security purposes, to comply with the law, or to run our internal operations where the data has been made anonymous.

f. Limited Use

SalonLynk’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

g. Removing access

To remove SalonLynk appointments from your Google Calendar, turn off “Sync bookings” in Settings.
To disconnect your Google account, use “Disconnect account” in Settings. This deletes your Google access tokens.
You can also revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

6. Your Choices

You have control over your information:

Profile Information: Update directly in your account.
Marketing Emails: Unsubscribe using the link in any email.
Cookies: Disable or delete cookies in your browser settings (some features may be affected).
Location: Disable location access in your device settings.
Push Notifications: Turn off through device settings.

7. Children’s Privacy

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services.
If a minor provides us with information, please contact us immediately at salonlynk@gmail.com so we can remove it.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information while your account is active and as needed to:

Provide the Services
Comply with legal obligations
Resolve disputes
Enforce our agreements

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

9. Links to External Sites

SalonLynk is intended for use within the United States. Professionals located outside the U.S. should not use the Services. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you do so at your own risk and are responsible for complying with local laws.

SalonLynk is based in Sweden and the Services are intended for U.S. use. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service partners operate.

13. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information.
However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
